Indonesian Muslim clerics who claim to be protecting girls by backing a new anti-pornography law are themselves marrying minors and condoning child sex, lawmakers and child welfare activists said. Lutfiana Ulfa (C) is guarded by relatives in Ungaran on November 7, 2008. .Indonesian Muslim clerics who claim to be protecting girls by backing a new anti-pornography law are themselves marrying minors and condoning child sex, lawmakers and child welfare activists said. The double standards of certain clerics in the mainly Muslim country has became a subject of national debate since little-known preacher Pujianto Cahyo Widiyanto married a 12-year-old girl in August.

Semuanya kerana gara-gara dia menikahi isteri kedua, kanak-kanak kampung berusia 12 tahun, Ogos lalu.

Isteri pertamanya, Ummi Hani berusia 26 tahun.

Menurutnya, kerana liputan meluas media, Ulfa berkata, dia cukup tertekan.

— Agensi
